Developers to get power direct via IPS.

January 13, 2021 - Bangkok Post (CBNB Abstracts)

Under captive independent power supply (IPS) model, B.Grimm Power (BGRIM) will directly sell power to real estate developers, including mixed-used building owners in the Thai cities. BGRIM is discussing six projects with real estate developers under this model. Additional details on the projects were not revealed. Completion of a new business plan is predicted in mid-2021. The company has been permitted to sell electricity directly only to facilities under private power purchase agreement (private PPA). Private PPA represent 25% of the overall power purchase contracts of BGRIM. The rest is made up of the company's power sales to the state-run Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand under PPA. Rooftop solar panels and gas-fired power generation plants could generate the power. According to BGRIM, it is still uncertain if a new entity will be formed to operate the new business because the division is in the development phase. In addition, the new operation will add value to its liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipping business. With the LNG import licence permit from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), BGRIM is authorized to import 650,000 tonnes/y of LNG volume.
