    September 20, 2021 - Ukrainian News Agency

In the period of September 15-20, the natural gas price in Europe rose by 2.9% or USD 25.29 per thousand cubic meters to USD 898.45 per thousand cubic meters.

That follows from the results of the trading at the TTF hub of the ICE Futures exchange, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the data, at the end of trading on September 15, the natural gas price was USD 873.16 per thousand cubic meters of natural gas, however, on September 16, the natural gas price fell by 10.5% to USD 781.16 per thousand cubic meters of natural gas.

At that, on September 17, the natural gas price began to grow again, reaching USD 804.01 per thousand cubic meters of natural gas.

As of 2:45 p.m. on September 20, the cost of natural gas increased to USD 898.45 per thousand cubic meters of natural gas.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ukrainian Gas Transport System Operator state-run enterprise states that Russia's gas monopoly Gazprom is artificially lowering the natural gas reserves in the underground gas storage facilities (USF) of Europe.

In turn, Gazprom states it is ready to retain natural gas transit via Ukraine after 2024.

Yurii Vitrenko, the board chairperson of the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company, states that Ukraine will continue to insist on the need for sanctions against the operator of the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream 2.
