WASHINGTON, Nov. 18 (TNSPol) -- The Center for Liquefied Natural Gas issued the following news release on Nov. 17, 2021:
Dena E. Wiggins, President and CEO of the Natural Gas Supply Association (NGSA), and Charlie Riedl, Executive Director of the Center for LNG (CLNG), commended the Senate for its vote yesterday to confirm Willie Phillips to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
NGSA President and CEO Dena Wiggins said:
"We applaud the Senate for its vote and we look forward to working with Commissioner Phillips at the FERC. Through his background as the Chair of the Public Service Commission of D.C. and work with the FERC, he understands the important role of affordable, reliable, and clean energy in American's daily lives. We look forward to working with Commissioner Phillips and others to create a clean energy future for all, acknowledging the important role natural gas infrastructure plays now and in the future. We look forward to a robust quorum at FERC, as the Commission produces its best results with a full complement of commissioners, and to working with Commissioner Phillips as the FERC tackles the many challenging issues ahead."
Center for LNG Executive Director Charlie Riedl said:
"As the global LNG market continues to grow and the United States plays a larger and larger role, a well-staffed and educated FERC is essential. This confirmation brings the Commission to a full quorum, providing greater certainty for buyers and sellers of LNG and project developers. We look forward to working with Commissioner Phillips and the other members of FERC to ensure a reliable and predictable LNG process as we look to reduce emissions globally and give trading partners more tools to meet their climate goals."
