MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/. Gazprom provided more than a half of the global incremental growth of natural gas production over nine months of this year, the Russian gas producer said on Tuesday.
"According to preliminary estimates, 3.2 trillion cubic meters of gas were produced worldwide from January 1 to September 30, up 110 bln cubic meters (4%) than in 9 months of 2020. Gazprom provided more than a half of the incremental growth of global production - 56 bln cubic meters (51%)," the company said.
Gas production and demand growth occurred worldwide because of recovering economic activity, weather factor and instability of renewable energy sources, Gazprom noted.
Europe is keeping the stable trend of own production drop, the Russian gas holding said. The decline was 10 bln cubic meters in January - September 2021, down 6% against the like period in 2020. Gas production in North America contracted by 5 bln cubic meters but gained 20 bln cubic meters in Asia-Pacific countries.
"We would like to note that Gazprom?s share in total European import of pipeline and liquefied natural gas was over 53%," the company said. --0--vnk
