    EGA and GE to Develop Roadmap to Decarbonise UAE Aluminium Giant's GE Gas Turbines, Including by Switching to Hydrogen

      * MoU welcomed by Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, the UAE's Minister of Climate Change and the Environment

      * EGA's GE turbines are capable of generating up to 5,200 megawatts of electricity, and account for significant proportion of company's greenhouse gas emissions

      * MoU is the first signed by GE Gas Power globally to develop a roadmap to identify solutions that if implemented, could reduce carbon emissions from power generation in the aluminium sector

      * MoU to explore the use of hydrogen and hydrogen-blended fuels in EGA's gas turbine fleet, as well as carbon capture, utilisation and storage solutions

      * UAE Government announced national Hydrogen Leadership Roadmap at COP26 in Glasgow earlier this month

      * Hydrogen: Explore options for replacing natural gas with hydrogen and hydrogen-blended fuels for combustion in EGA's GE turbines

      * Carbon capture, utilisation and storage: Explore the potential to integrate this technology into EGA's power plants and implement the necessary changes required to the auxiliary and balance of plant systems
