    Gazprom Neft supplying gas for Iraqi Kurdistan?s power plant

      SARQALA, November 30. /TASS/. Gazprom Neft has already started supplying about 76% of associated petroleum gas from the Sarqala project for the power park in Iraqi Kurdistan with the capacity of 165 MW, CEO of Gazpromneft Middle East Sergei Petrov told TASS in an interview.

      "This project provides an opportunity at present to have practicable use of about 76% of associated petroleum gas of the field to generate power for local residents. The next step is to supply the whole volume of gas to the power park," the top manager said.

      "The power park with the capacity of 165 MW will supply electricity to several provinces of the autonomy after the ramp-up," Petrov added.

      Gazprom Neft is implementing the Sarqala project with the stake of 40% in cooperation with Canada?s WesternZagros Resources (40%) and the government of Iraqi Kurdistan that holds 20% in the project. Annual production of Gazprom Middle East that is developing the Sarqala field was 1.2 mln tonnes in 2020. --0--vnk
