News: The Government of Germany and the state of Lower Saxony have signed an agreement with Uniper for the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in the town of Willhelmshaven, Germany. Uniper will invest around EUR65mn (USD67.6mn) in the terminal. Phase I of the LNG terminal will provide regasification of LNG via a floating storage and regasification units (FSRU), which would be connected to the existing Umschlagsanlage Voslapper Groden (UVG) sea bridge. Completion of Phase I is expected to be between 2022 and 2023. Phase II includes the construction of a port parallel to the existing UVG, with completion due in 2025 (Offshore Energy).
