Europe sets task to abandon Russian energy ignoring damage to its economy - Putin

    May 17, 2022 - ITAR-TASS

MOSCOW, May 17. /TASS/. European countries are setting the task of abandoning Russian energy sources, ignoring the damage to their own economy, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday at a meeting on the development of the national oil industry.

"The Europeans openly admit that they cannot completely abandon Russian energy resources yet, it is all the more obvious that some EU states with energy balances where the share of Russian hydrocarbons is especially high, will not be able to do this, to abandon our oil for a long time," he said.

"However, they set such a task, we see it. They set it without paying attention to the damage that they have already caused to their own economy," Putin stressed. --0--art
