The State will save more than US$200 million in energy imports in August

    August 1, 2022 - CE Noticias Financieras

Energy purchases abroad will be lower than expected next month due to a series of negotiations between CAMMESA (the company that manages the wholesale electricity market) and Energía Argentina, which allowed rescheduling and even canceling imports.

Due to the higher temperatures, the consumption of residential gas was reduced, increasing the available gas to generate energy in power plants, while Bolivia, with whom our country has a gas supply agreement, is also delivering volumes above those expected. On the other hand, our country also took electric energy from Brazil, which allows us to replace imported diesel and fuel oil.

These better conditions allowed the cancellation of 3 LNG ships which had as destination Escobar, which implies a saving of 156 million dollars, to which must be added 46.8 million dollars which ENARSA will receive as compensation from the suppliers, since those cargoes had been agreed at a price which is half of the current one.
