Industrial flow of natural gas received in southeastern Turkmenistan

    August 8, 2022 - Turan Information Agency

Baku/08.08.22//Turan: An industrial flow of natural gas was received at the Sherefli gas field in the Mary velayat (a region in the southeast of Turkmenistan). This is reported by the newspaper Nebit-Gaz (Oil-Gas). Experts estimated the daily flow rate of the well at 695,000 cubic meters of natural gas, the publication's website. Such a primary production volume gives reason to believe that this field is quite promising. It is emphasized that the gas inflow was obtained from the development and appraisal well No.01 from a depth of 2330 meters.

According to the newspaper, at the moment, drilling of an operational appraisal well No. 02 is being started at the Sherefli gas field. Drilling is also underway at two more new gas fields, Kelleli and Yylan.

In terms of natural gas reserves, Turkmenistan is among the top four countries in the world along with Russia, Iran and Qatar. The country is also the leader in pipeline natural gas supplies to China. -0-
