November 30 (Renewables Now) - Global independent power producer (IPP) Sonnedix Power Holdings Ltd said on Wednesday that it has acquired five solar PV projects with a combined capacity of 299 MW in the UK to expand its presence in the local market.
Solar energy group Lightsource bp, which is backed by UK oil-and-gas major BP Plc (LON:BP), sold the portfolio under undisclosed terms.
Sonnedix took over the projects in shovel-ready state. The sites are located across different regions. The new owner expects the projects to be in operation in 2024, it said.
Following the transaction, Sonnedix will have about 500 MWp of controlled capacity in the UK, the firm added.
