ZAGREB (Croatia), January 30 (SeeNews) - LNG Hrvatska, the operator of Croatia's liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal on the Krk island, said it received last week the first LNG cargo shipment from Mozambique.
The LNG transport ship British Mentor docked on January 23 at the terminal, LNG Hrvatska said in a press release.
“What is especially interesting about the arrival of this ship, is the fact that it is transporting LNG from Mozambique, which means that this is the first time terminal is acquiring LNG from that part of Africa,” it added.
The terminal on Krk started operating in January 2021. It delivers gas to the Croatian national transmission network, which is connected to fellow EU member states Slovenia, Italy and Hungary, as well as to non-EU members Serbia and Montenegro. It has a regasification capacity of 338,000 cubic metres per hour, equal to 2.9 billion cubic metres per year.
