ScottMadden to Partner with SEPA for Executive Fact-Finding Mission in Texas

    October 27, 2015 - October 27, 2015 | Atlanta, GA

ScottMadden, Inc., one of North America’s leading energy consulting firms, is proud to join the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) in leading a group of approximately 25 U.S. energy industry executives to the deregulated “energy market laboratory” of Texas to examine how innovative programs and integration tools help leading utilities and technology companies grow and thrive in this dynamic energy market. Cristin Lyons, partner and grid transformation practice leader at ScottMadden, and Marc Miller, partner and public power and electric cooperatives practice leader at ScottMadden, will attend this event.

The trip, which will take place November 2–5, 2015, will focus on addressing key questions including:

      • What are the drivers for the growth of renewables and distributed energy resources in Texas?
      • How is the regulatory landscape developing and what are the impacts on the key stakeholders?
      • In what ways are public power and electric cooperative utilities leading the way?
      • What tools and approaches are being tested in Texas and how can these tools help maintain reliability and build resiliency in the future?

“This fact-finding mission will provide invaluable insights into the development of renewables, and specifically solar, in the Texas market. While Texas is a unique market, the initiatives undertaken there can provide important insights to the rest of the country,” said Ms. Lyons.

“Diversifying electricity generation into cleaner fuels is a strategic priority for many of today’s public power and electric cooperative utilities, and I look forward to learning more about how this is happening with solar power in Texas,” continued Mr. Miller.
