Great River Energy Selects the EnCompass Software Model for Integrated Resource Planning

    May 14, 2018 - Anchor Power Solutions

Anchor Power Solutions’ EnCompass software combines operational details and resource planning in a single solution.

Great River Energy, the second largest power supplier in the state of Minnesota, selected Anchor Power Solutions’ EnCompass software as part of on-going efforts to evolve modeling capabilities in pace with industry change. Great River Energy will use EnCompass to perform capacity expansion modeling in support of the company’s Integrated Resource Plans (IRP) and to inform other resource portfolio planning and business decisions.

Anchor Power worked with Great River Energy to build a starter EnCompass database and to demonstrate modeling capabilities through a 30-day trial period.

After completing a an initial evaluation and benchmark of EnCompass to validate functionality and results, Great River Energy decided to implement the client/server version along with the National Database provided by Horizons Energy, a partner company of Anchor Power Solutions. With the National Database, Great River Energy enhances its ability to investigate energy and ancillary services market interactions and operations as part of portfolio planning.

“By selecting EnCompass, Great River Energy is able to take advantage of new, modern software that is already a proven model for resource planning,” said Norm Richardson, President of Anchor Power Solutions. “Anchor Power’s singular focus is ensuring the satisfaction of EnCompass clients, and we are proud to include Great River Energy in that group.”
