ScottMadden to Release Energy Industry Update and Host Free Webcast to Highlight Grid Modernization Efforts, Changes in Federal Policy, and the Consequences of Increased Electrification

    September 25, 2018 - ScottMadden

ScottMadden, Inc., one of North America’s leading management consulting firms specializing in energy, will soon release its fall Energy Industry Update. For more than a decade, the ScottMadden Energy Industry Update has served as a catalyst for strategic discussion, debate, and decisions. More than 10,000 executive leaders rely on it for the most important trends and thought-provoking insights.

Themed “Don’t Stop Believin’,” this issue will focus on the growth strategies energy and utility companies are undertaking and how they are developing and modernizing needed infrastructure while navigating challenges from various stakeholders with disparate interests and concerns. ScottMadden will offer insights on key topics including:

      • Grid modernization efforts around the nation, including some common themes, and what utilities should consider for their own programs
      • Evolving federal policy toward wholesale energy infrastructure development, including emerging issues surrounding power transmission and gas pipeline projects
      • Opportunities for and possible trade-offs with increased electrification, which is of increasing interest to the electric industry, environmental groups, and some policy makers

“‘Don’t Stop Believin’’ has meaning for many stakeholders,” said Cristin Lyons, partner and energy practice leader at ScottMadden. “It characterizes customer and regulator interest in reliable and reasonably priced energy, environmental objectives for fewer emissions from energy resources, and utilities’ goals of growth and bolstering the energy ecosystem. Also, it highlights that with so many ‘believers,’ there are bound to be conflicts.”
