Public power leaders to converge at National Conference for critical information, idea exchanges, and industry solutions

April 22, 2019 - American Public Power Association

The nation’s premier gathering of public power leaders, the American Public Power Association’s National Conference is your time to reconnect, recharge, and power up for the future.

Join us June 7-12, 2019, in Austin, Texas to explore how policy, technology, and changing lifestyles are reshaping the energy industry and how that impacts your community. Engage with visionaries and experts, exchange ideas and lessons learned with public power leaders and policymakers, and expand your peer network.

Connect with public power leaders for ideas and insights:

      • General managers and CEOs
      • Senior managers and rising leaders
      • Mayors
      • City council members
      • Governing board members
      • Industry partners and vendors
      • Consultants and subject matter experts

Get critical information and innovative solutions to the key issues and challenges facing our industry: utility governance and leadership challenges; legislation and policy changes; innovation and new technologies; cyber and physical preparedness; utility operations and reliability; optimizing your workforce; and connecting with your community.

Keynote speakers will explore the current state of American politics (and what it means for public power communities); what artificial intelligence means for the energy industry; and building a culture of excellence in public power. Presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin will close out the conference with a leadership roadmap from four American presidents.

The American Public Power Association is the voice of not-for-profit, community-owned utilities that power 2,000 towns and cities nationwide. We represent public power before the federal government to protect the interests of the more than 49 million customers that public power utilities serve, and the 93,000 people they employ. Our association advocates and advises on electricity policy, technology, trends, training, and operations. Our members strengthen their communities by providing superior service, engaging citizens, and instilling pride in community-owned power.

The National Conference will be held June 7-12, 2019, in Austin, Texas. For more information, visit www.PublicPower.org/NationalConference.
