    Vestas Wind Systems Gets Patent for Methods and Apparatus for Servicing Wind Turbine Components Through a Lower Portion of a Tower

      Alexandria, April 6 -- Vestas Wind Systems has received a patent for methods and apparatus for servicing wind turbine components through a lower portion of a tower. Donescu Victor, Andersen Jacob Karottki Falk and Hansen Erland Falk developed the invention. The patent application number is 16/380,467.       The abstract released by U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states, "A wind turbine tower is supported on a transition piece that connects the tower to a foundation and that defines a space beneath the lower end of the tower. Electronic components positioned within a removable module in the lower portion of a wind turbine tower may be removed through a lower end of the tower for service or replacement."
