    Wobben Properties Secures Patent on Method of Controlling a Wind Turbine and Wind Turbine

      Alexandria, Nov. 17 -- Wobben Properties has secured a patent on method of controlling a wind turbine and wind turbine. Messing Ralf, Lebosq Rodolphe and Rubner Florian developed the invention. The patent application number is 16/303,537. The International Patent Classification codes are F03D 7/04 (20060101) and F03D 7/02 (20060101). Cooperative Patent Classification codes are F03D 7/0224 (20130101), F03D 7/043 (20130101), F05B 2270/328 (20130101), F05B 2270/1033 (20130101), F05B 2270/32 (20130101) and F05B 2270/323 (20130101).

      The abstract released by U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states, "a method of controlling a wind power installation comprising the steps: detecting a precipitation in the region of the wind power installation by a precipitation sensor, and controlling the wind power installation in a first operating mode based on a first pitch angle characteristic in which the pitch angle is set in dependence on the power, and in a second operating mode based on a second pitch angle characteristic, wherein the first operating mode is selected if there is no precipitation and the second operating mode is selected if there is precipitation."
