    General Electric Granted United States Patent for Bearing for a Wind Turbine Drivetrain Having an Elastomer Support

      Alexandria, Nov. 17 -- General Electric has been granted a patent (11,174,895) for bearing for a wind turbine drivetrain having an elastomer support. This invention was developed by Krauss Thomas. The patent application number is 16/399,022. The International Patent Classification codes are F16C 17/02 (20060101), F16C 27/06 (20060101), F03D 80/70 (20160101), F16C 33/12 (20060101), F16H 57/08 (20060101) and F03D 15/00 (20160101).       According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office: "A bearing assembly for a drivetrain of a wind turbine includes at least one shaft having a circumferential outer surface and a bearing secured circumferentially around the circumferential outer surface of the shaft(s). Further, the bearing assembly includes an elastomer support arranged on at least one of an inner surface or an outer surface of the bearing. The elastomer support is constructed, at least in part, of an elastomeric material."
