      TerraPower Selects Preferred Site For 345MW Nuclear Power Plant In Wyoming, US

      News: TerraPower has selected the town of Kemmerer in Wyoming State, US as the preferred location for its 345MW Natrium nuclear power plant (NPP). The proposed USD4.0bn NPP facility will be backed by USD1.9bn from the federal government and USD2.0bn from TerraPower. Rocky Mountain Power — a unit of PacifiCorp — will operate the facility. The preferred siting is subject to the finalsation of definitive agreements on the site and applicable permitting, licencing and support. TerraPower expects to submit the construction permit application to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission mid-2023. The project is slated for completion in 2028, reports CNBC.
