UPDATE - Rampion wind park sells transmission assets

    November 19, 2021 - SeeNews Renewables

November 19 (Renewables Now) - German energy company RWE AG (ETR:RWE) on Friday confirmed the sale of the transmission assets for the 400-MW Rampion offshore wind farm in the UK.

Located off the coast of Sussex, the wind park was commissioned in 2018. RWE owns 50.1% of the project, with Macquarie and Canada’s Enbridge holding 25% and 24.9%, respectively.

Rampion Offshore Wind Ltd has transferred the assets to Transmission Capital Partners (TCP), a consortium of International Public Partnerships Ltd (LON:INPP), Amber Infrastructure Group and Transmission Investment. TCP was selected in 2019 as the preferred bidder for the Rampion transmission license under the UK’s Offshore Transmission Owner (OFTO) regime.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the consortium has reached financial close for the long-term ownership and operation of the wind farm’s link.

The transmission assets include the offshore substation, the onshore substation at Twineham, as well as subsea and onshore export cables.
