    Mitsubishi Power Americas elects William A. 'Bill' Newsom, Jr. as CEO

      Power company Mitsubishi Power Americas revealed on Friday the appointment of William A. 'Bill' Newsom, Jr. as its president and chief executive officer.

      Effective 1 December 2021, Newsom will focus on the company's market leadership in new sales, power generation and energy storage solutions, provide power generation and storage solutions to customers, combat climate change as well as advance human prosperity.

      Prior to the promotion, Newsom has served in leadership roles at Mitsubishi Power for almost 18 years, most recently as executive vice president of New Generation Systems, which includes new turbomachinery and the development of the hydrogen value chain.

      Earlier in his career, Newsom worked with Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation as well as Calpine Corporation.
