The amount of coal reserves in warehouses at Ukrainian state- and privately-owned thermal power plants (TPPs) has increased by 26% since the heating season started, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to the Ukrainian Energy Ministry’s Facebook page.

“During the heating season, the amount of coal reserves in warehouses at the state-owned thermal power plants increased by 32%. The increase in coal reserves at privately-owned generating facilities came to 25%. The total increase reached 26%,” the report states.

As of January 17, 2022, Ukrainian thermal power plants contained 681.3 thousand tonnes of coal, including privately-owned power plants – 552.1 thousand tonnes, state-owned power plants – 129.2 thousand tonnes.
