PSAs Signed for 2.5GW Offshore Wind Projects In New York, US

News: A joint venture of Equinor and BP has signed the purchase and sale agreements (PSAs) with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority for two offshore wind projects off the coast of New York state. The 1.26GW Empire Wind 2 will be installed southeast of Long Island, while the 1.23GW Beacon Wind 1 will be installed east of Montauk Point and south of Nantucket, Massachusetts. Both projects include port upgrades to the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal, representing public and private funding of USD644.0mn. Empire Wind 2 is planned to be commissioned in 2027, followed by Beacon Wind 1 in 2028 (OffshoreWindBiz).
