SSE, Marubeni, CIP To Develop 2.6GW Floating Wind Project In Scotland

News: A joint venture (JV) of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) (30%), Marubeni (30%) and SSE Renewables (40%) has secured exclusive rights to develop a 2.6GW floating wind farm in Scotland, as part of the ScotWind offshore tender. Under the contract, the JV will develop the complex on a 858sq km site located within the E1 Zone in the Firth of Forth off the Angus Coast. The lease option agreement with Crown Estate Scotland is due to be signed in Q222, with first power from the complex planned to be delivered by the end of 2030 (Renewables Now).
