Energinet, Denmark's national transmission system operator for electricity and natural gas, and Norwegian grid operator Statnett will change the distribution capacity of the export and import of electricity between Denmark and Norway via the electricity connections across the Skagerrak strait. Energinet announced in a statement that the change will take place on 28 January 2022. Denmark will be able to export 1,632 MW of electricity to Norway, while it will be possible to import 1,110 MW to Denmark. Up until the planned change, the distribution had worked the other way round since mid-October 2020. As it takes some time to implement the change, capacity will be reduced to 802 MW in both directions for two days beforehand.
