Two coal-fired power units with a capacity of 600 MW to be built at the Angren TPP

    January 24, 2022 - UzReport

Tashkent, Jan. 24 -- In order to develop production capacities in the field of electric power, measures are being taken to introduce modern energy-efficient technologies. In particular, it is planned to build two new modern coal-fired power units with a capacity of 300 MW each at the Angren TPP, which will be put into operation in 2024-2025.

The Angren Thermal Power Plant (TPP) plays an important role in providing electricity and heat to consumers, as well as all social facilities of the city.

According to the Ministry of Energy, currently, 4 turbines, 5 boilers, and 1 new 150 MW power unit operating since 2016 are used at the station to generate electricity and heat. The total installed capacity of the station today is 393 MW.

"The station produces 1.3 billion rubles. kWh of electricity and 420,000 Gcal of heat per year. The generated electricity and heat cover 100% of the electricity needs of the city of Angren and adjacent territories. Despite the fact that the demand for electricity in the Angren and the surrounding areas is 575 million kWh," the ministry said.
