KYIV. Jan 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Stocks of coal in the warehouses of thermal power plants of generating companies of Ukraine grew by 4.7% (by 31,900 tonnes) from January 17 to January 24, 2022 to 713,400 tonnes, according to Department of Energy data.
According to the calculations of Interfax-Ukraine, since the beginning of the year, stocks have increased 1.6 times (as of December 31, 2021 there were 435,700 tonnes), and they were also almost 1.6 times more than a year earlier (by 25 January 2021 they totaled 455,300 tonnes).
As reported, on December 1 through December 30, 2021, 1.843 million tonnes of coal were supplied to the TPPs (12.8% more compared to November 2021), including coal extracted in Ukraine reached 1.44 million tonnes (6.5% more), imported coal amounted to 402,200 tonnes (43.4% more).
