Alpha Real Capital buys 61.5-MW solar portfolio in UK

    January 24, 2022 - SeeNews Renewables

January 24 (Renewables Now) - London-based real assets investor Alpha Real Capital LLP announced on Monday that it has acquired an GBP-86-million (USD 116.1m/EUR 102.6m) solar portfolio company Innova Energy in the UK.

With this acquisition, Alpha takes over 17 operating solar farms with a combined capacity of 61.5 MW. Extension and expansion rights were included in the purchase, according to Alpha’s press release.

"The addition of this portfolio takes Alpha’s solar assets to 215 MW and 45 sites. Following a strong market recovery, we anticipate remaining active in the market as we continue to source opportunities that will deliver the UK’s energy transition,” Will Morgan, head of renewables at Alpha Real Capital, said in the statement.

The latest transaction follows Innova Energy’s sale of 57 feed-in-tariff backed rooftop solar PV assets to UK renewables investor Octopus Renewables in August 2021.
