As of January 25, 2022, 12 out of 15 power units were running at Ukrainian nuclear power plants, but all 15 nuclear power units are expected to be operated before the end of this week, Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko stated at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Currently, 12 out of 15 power units are running. In one-two days, after maintenance works are completed, two power units will resume operation. The fifteenth power unit will be put into service at the end of the week,” Galushchenko told.
In his words, for the duration of maintenance works at power unit 4 of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and power unit 1 of Khmelnytskyi NPP, the energy system is remaining balanced thanks to the additional load on thermal and hydro power plants.
