NUR-SULTAN, January 25. /TASS/. Kazakhstan has resumed parallel operation with Kyrgyzstan?s energy system, works are underway to resume parallel operation with Uzbekistan?s energy grid, the press service of Kegok, a Kazakh electricity networks managing company, said on Tuesday.
"By now, the normal operation of the national electricity grid has been resumed. The parallel operation with Kyrgyzstan?s energy system has been restored. All restrictions in Almaty and the Almaty region were listed at 14:53 local time (11:53 Moscow time)," it said, adding that repair works continue.
Massive electricity outages were reported on Tuesday in Kazakhstan?s southern regions, in Kyrgyzstan, and inn the east of Uzbekistan. Due to the cuts in electricity supplies, utility supplies were stopped in big cities and airports suspended operation. Some regions were left without heat and water. Subway service was suspended in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent and several tourists were stranded while traveling on cable cars at Uzbekistan?s Amirsoy Mountain Resort.
