PV company Unigreen Energy, a subsidiary of holding company Ream Management focusing on renewable energy, health nutrition and ecotourism projects, has made its first foray into wind generation market with an acquisition of 70% stake in wind power project in Kazakhstan. Unigreen signed a deal with Unex Stroy to acquire 70% share in the charter capital of the special purpose vehicle Kaz Wind Energy that holds a 48 MW wind power project in Kostanay region of Kazakhstan.
The project is to be implemented on a build and operate basis under a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) and is set to come online by the end of 2022.
Unigreen Energy continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio with developing 55 MW of solar generation in Kazakhstan and 545 MW in Russia.
Being a vertically integrated company Unigreen Energy continues to expand its overseas presence aiming to reach 3 GW portfolio by 2024.
