January 27 (Renewables Now) - SK ecoplant, the green investment arm of South Korean conglomerate SK Group, has formed a partnership with Nami Solar, an affiliate of Vietnam company Nami Energy, to invest in distributed solar in Vietnam.
Under a joint development agreement, signed in December 2021, the partners plan to invest USD 200 million (EUR 177m) over the next few years to deliver 250 MWp of rooftop solar installations.
According to an announcement this week, the pact will advance SK ecoplant’s ambitions to become a major global investor in renewable energy and Nami Solar’s aim to become a leading distributed solar company in Vietnam.
“The distributed solar energy solutions offered by our joint venture are efficient measures for local businesses, many of them Korean investors, helping them meet their green energy demand as well as making savings on their electricity bills,” said Nami Energy chairman Luu Hoang Ha.
