Axpo seals PPAs with Mirova, Uriel for 165 MW of Polish wind

May 6, 2022 - SeeNews Power Market Review

May 6 (Renewables Now) - The Polish arm of Switzerland-based Axpo Holding AG has sealed two power purchase agreements (PPA) with Mirova Eolska and Uriel Renovables for 165 MW of wind projects under construction in Poland.

The Swiss renewable power producer and energy trader said on Thursday that Axpo Polska will offtake the entire output and Guarantees of Origin (GoOs) generated by two wind farms. The company will also provide balancing services and fixed price hedging for part of the electricity under a pay-as-produced arrangement.

The PPAs will come into effect after the two plants go online and will run by the end of 2024.

The larger of the two contracted projects, with a capacity of 144.9 MW, is owned by French asset manager Mirova Eolska and Spanish renewable energy developer Uriel Renovables. Being installed in Western Pomerania region, the wind farm will be equipped with 42 Vestas V126 - 3.45MW turbines and will be able to produce around 364.1 GWh of electricity annually.

A wind farm of 20.7 MW is also planned to be switched on in Pomeranian Voivodeship to generate 61.4 GWh of power per year. The project, to use six of the same Vestas machines, is majority-owned by Uriel Renovables.
