Brazil's Energisa buys 5 MWp of solar DG systems

    May 10, 2022 - SeeNews Renewables

May 10 (Renewables Now) - Brazilian electricity distributor Energisa SA (BVMF:ENGI11) announced on Monday that it has finalised the acquisition of two companies that together owned a pair of solar distributed generation (DG) systems with a combined capacity of 5 MWp.

The acquisition was made through subsidiary Alsol Energias Renovaveis SA and it is part of a transaction to purchase a 136-MWp solar portfolio in the state of Minas Gerais as Energisa announced in January.

Overall, Energisa is targeting a total of 41 solar DG projects held by 11 companies.

In April, the company completed the acquisition of a larger part of this deal, paying roughly BRL 6.9 million (USD 1.3m/EUR 1.2m) for up to 110.2 MWp.

The systems are being sold by domestic outfit Vision Sistemas Ltda, and local businessmen Julio De Paula Kierluff, Weberton Luiz Goncalves Eller and Rodrigo Madeira Marques.

According to Energisa, the acquisition of the remaining six companies is still subject to certain conditions specifically applicable to these firms.
