Sheikh Khaled toured the exhibition, met with local and global energy companies, and was briefed on the latest innovations in power generation, transmission and distribution, nuclear energy, water management and desalination, which are helping to drive the transition to a sustainable energy ecosystem.

He was accompanied by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Awaidha Murshed Ali Al Marar, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Chairman of TAQA and CEO of ADQ, and Jasim Husain Thabet, Group CEO and Managing Director of TAQA.

Awaidha Al Marar, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), said, "Hosting the World Utilities Congress in Abu Dhabi demonstrates the emirate’s commitment to building a sustainable future. Developing the utilities sector and embracing advanced technology and digital transformation is essential for meeting the emirate’s water and electricity needs in the future and for enhancing energy efficiency and increasing clean energy’s share of the energy mix." As well as providing a platform for the global power and water industry to meet and discuss trends, while exploring technologies and innovations influencing future power and water demand, the three-day exhibition and conference will also facilitate access to growth opportunities in the UAE and wider MENA region, as well as Asia.

The World Utilities Congress brings together more than 10,000 trade professionals and 120 exhibiting companies with the aim of promoting proactive measures to digitalise power and water systems, control emissions, and attract long-term capital investments. The congress will also host more than 210 industry expert speakers, more than 1,000 conference delegates, and more than 50 strategic and technical conference sessions.
