May 11 (Renewables Now) - Danish outfit Nordic Solar A/S said that its 48.5-MWp Insua solar farm in south-east Portugal is ready for operations.
Insua is the largest plant to date in Nordic Solar’s 326-MWp strong solar farm portfolio in Europe, the company said. The 80-hectare (197.7 acres) project was developed and built by Chint Solar, which sold it to the Danish firm ahead of construction.
The Insua solar farm is capable of supplying 35,000 households with power. Nordic Solar said that it will co-operate with Spain-based consultancy Our New Energy as advisers in the power purchase agreement (PPA) and Swiss utility Axpo as its PPA partner, and lender Banco Sabadell SA (BME:SAB).
Nordic Solar has set the target to deliver 1 GWp of solar energy by 2025.
