Origin Secures Planning Approval For 700MW Eraring Battery Project in Australia

News: The Department of Planning and Environment of New South Wales has granted planning approval to Origin Energy for the 700MW/2,800MWh battery project on the site of Eraring Power station in Australia. The battery will replace 2.88GW coal generator, which is planned to close in August 2025. The project will have a dispatch duration of four hours. Origin will establish vendor and construction negotiations and transmissions connection agreements before the final investment decision (PV Magazine).
