Geo SubSeas owner to explore the renewable wind industry 'revolution' in Middletown

May 14, 2022 - New Haven Register, Conn.

May 13—MIDDLETOWN — The Rockfall Foundation will host its next Meet Your Greens event May 19 during which Jeff Gardner, owner of Middletown-based Geo SubSea, will be discussing the renewable wind industry "revolution" and its impact on the state of Connecticut.

The talk will begin at 5:30 p.m. outside cinder + salt at 195 Main St. The discussion will focus on how the renewable wind industry is impacting the state, according to a press release.

He will also touch upon the history of the offshore wind renewable energy industry in the United States, and his company's involvement in the current renewable sector "revolution," the news release said.

Gardner's firm is involved with the Vineyard Wind Project, the first large-scale offshore wind facility in the United States. Vineyard Wind 1 will generate 800 megawatts of electricity annually and power over 400,000 homes, an equivalent of removing 325,000 vehicles from roadways, the statement said.

His career includes 27 years of offshore surveying around the world followed by the start and continued growth of his own company since 2015.

Rain will cancel the event. For information, visit rockfallfoundation.org.
