Thyssenkrupp Nucera opens Aussie office gearing up for hydrogen growth

May 17 (Renewables Now) - Electrolyser provider Thyssenkrupp Nucera on Monday said it has opened an office in Perth, Australia as it eyes growth in Australia’s emerging green hydrogen sector.

The company, which is a joint business of German industrial conglomerate Thyssenkrupp AG (ETR:TKA) with Italy's Industrie De Nora SpA and offers 20-MW standard electrolyser modules, is looking to supply gigawatt-scale technology to Australia. It said the location in Perth, which will provide sales and project execution services, gives it access to an industrial area with ideal infrastructure for exporting green hydrogen and green chemicals to global and Asian markets.

“Western Australia has many attributes that provide a strong competitive advantage in the growing global renewable hydrogen market with their combination of world-class renewable energy resources, vast land mass, established energy infrastructure and a history of exporting energy to international markets,” commented Johann Rinnhofer, managing director of Thyssenkrupp Nucera Australia.
