Iberdrola May Sell up to 20% Stake in Iberdrola Distribucion Electrica

Iberdrola SA, a Spain-based electric utility company, intends to sell 15-20% of stake in Iberdrola Distribucion Electrica SAU, an electric utility company, for a consideration of about EUR3 billion, as reported by La Informacion

Energy company Morgan Stanley has been tasked with evaluating and finding a buyer for a minority stake, and is looking into significant infrastructure funds to acquire this stake, according to La Informacion

The first valuations issued by this investment bank raise the estimate to between EUR15 and EUR20 billion for the total subsidiary. Everything will depend on the participation that will come at the end. Iberdrola’s sources declined to comment.
