    Samsung Heavy Ind Applies for Patent on Wind Turbine Installation Vessel

      Seoul, May 17 -- Samsung Heavy Ind has applied for Korean patent for wind turbine installation vessel. Park Joo Shin developed it.

      The patent application number is KR20180126271 20181022. The patent publication number is KR20200045337 (A). International Patent Classification codes are B63B27/10, B63B35/00, B63B35/50, B66C23/18, B66C23/88, F03D13/25 and F03D13/40. Cooperative Patent Classification codes are B63B27/10 (KR), B63B35/003 (KR), B63B35/50 (KR), B66C23/185 (KR), B66C23/88 (KR), F03D13/25 (KR), F03D13/40 (KR), B63B2221/22 (KR), Y02E10/72 (EP) and Y02E10/727 (EP).

      The abstract of the patent published by the Korean Intellectual Property Office states: "Disclosed is a wind turbine installation vessel. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the wind turbine installation vessel includes: a hull; a crane boom provided on the hull; a helideck provided on the hull; a support part provided to be lifted and lowered in the helideck, and selectively supporting the crane boom; and a separation preventing part rotationally provided on the support part, and preventing the crane boom from being separated from the support part in a state of being supported by the support part. Therefore, a loading space can be widely secured."
