Plans Unveiled To Build Dam In Arunachal Pradesh, India

News: The Government of India has unveiled plans for the construction of a new dam in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The proposed dam, estimated to cost INR500bn (USD6.4bn), would come up on the Brahmaputra River at Yingkiong and would store around 10bn cubic metres of water. The dam forms part of the proposed Upper Siang multi-purpose storage project, which would also generate hydropower (Live Mint).
