Denmark: Pension companies ready to invest in North Sea wind projects

    May 19, 2022 - M-Brain Nordic News

Pension companies in Denmark are ready to invest in green energy to back up the agreement signed between Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium yesterday, according to Tom Vile Jensen, Deputy Director of Danish business organisation Insurance & Pension Denmark. The agreement will result in the construction of offshore wind turbines with a total capacity of 150 gigawatts in the North Sea by 2050. Jensen said that investments should not only be made in wind farms, but also build a transmission network that can transport the power so that the underlying network can keep up. The agreement also opens up opportunities for investment in power-to-X, he said.
