Eurus Energy cuts ribbon at 20-MW repowered wind farm in Japan

    May 20, 2022 - SeeNews Renewables

May 20 (Renewables Now) - Japanese wind power developer Eurus Energy Holdings Corp today held a ceremony to open a 20-MW wind park it repowered in the prefecture of Hokkaido.

The Eurus Tomamae Wind Farm is now equipped with five GE 4.2-MW turbines that have replaced 19 Siemens Gamesa and one Toshiba units.

The Tomamae city-based wind farm was Eurus' first commercial wind power project in Japan. It started operation in November 1999.

The wind farm's output will be sold to local utility Hokkaido Electric Power Co Inc (TYO:9509), or HEPCO, Eurus stated earlier this year.
