Spain's Greenalia plans 50-MW wind park at home

    May 20, 2022 - SeeNews Renewables

May 20 (Renewables Now) - Spanish forestry and energy group Greenalia SA (BME:GRN) has unveiled its plans to build a 50-MW wind farm in the region of Galicia, northwest Spain.

The company said on Thursday will invest more than EUR 41 million (USD 43.1m) in the Fonsanta wind project. The plan is to install the wind farm in the municipalities of Bande and Verea, Ourense province.

The project proposal has been published in Galicia’s official gazette, and is now available for public consultation, Greenalia said.

Fonsanta is designed to feature 12 wind turbines with 112 metres in hub height and 150 metres in rotor diameter. Greenalia would use one 3.8-MW turbine and 11 units of 4.2-MW machines in this project. The annual production output of Fonsanta is estimated at 153,163 MWh.
