On May 10, the Institutional Security Office of the Presidency of the Republic coordinated a technical visit to the facilities of the Almirante lvaro Alberto Nuclear Power Plant (CNAAA), in the municipality of Angra dos Reis, in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
It was the second planned visit, with the participation of the bodies and institutions that are part of the Brazilian Nuclear Program Protection System (Sipron), in compliance with the General Program of Activities (PGA-2022). Such visits aim to inform about the activities developed within the scope of the System, monitor the security situation of the bodies visited, as well as enable the strengthening of institutional ties between Sipron participants.
The delegation was made up of representatives from the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources, the Federal Police, the Military and Civil Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the General Department of Civil Defense of the municipality of Resende, of the State of Civil Defense of the State of Rio de Janeiro and the Ministry of Health.
