BNZ will build photovoltaic power plant in the Ave region

    May 31, 2022 - CE Noticias Financieras

Independent power producer BNZ will build a photovoltaic power plant in the Ave intermunicipal community. The energy production capacity will be 49 megawatts-peak (MWp) and the plant should be operational by 2023.

This will be the first investment of the Catalan BNZ in Portugal, where the company expects to install a total capacity of more than 400 MWp by 2024. The production capacity of this solar power plant will be able to serve about 14 thousand people. The company also estimates that 270 to 370 jobs may be created directly and indirectly.

In a statement, the general director of BNZ Portugal, Luís Selva, states that "BNZ's main goal is the production of 100% clean energy" and that, therefore, "Portugal is a priority market for the company and has a strong growth potential in renewable energy generation, such as solar energy.
