      Transgrid Starts Construction On Portion Of AUD2.28bn Energyconnect Tranmission Project In Australia

      News: Transgrid has started early works on the New South Wales (NSW) section of the AUD2.28bn (USD1.64bn) EnergyConnect transmission project in Australia. The project includes the construction of a 900km-long interconnector to link the states of NSW, South Australia and Victoria. Transgrid will build the AUD1.8bn (USD1.29bn) 700km-long NSW portion (South Australian border to Wagga Wagga ), while Electranet will deliver the AUD457.4mn (USD329mn) 200km-long portion from the border to Robertstown in South Australia. Construction work in South Australia section is likely to complete in late 2023. Major works on NSW section are slated to start in July 2022 (NS Energy).
