    Russian energy consumption rises 3.8% in May

      MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - Electricity consumption in Russia rose 3.8% year-on-year to 86.3 billion kWh in May 2022, with output increasing 2.8% year-on-year to 87.2 billion kWh, the Energy Ministry told reporters, citing Deputy Energy Minister Yevgeny Grabchak.

      Grabchak said that energy consumption in Russia increased 2.5% year-on-year to 484.95 billion kWh in January-May 2022, with production rising 2.3% year-on-year to 494.3 billion kWh.

      The System Operator has not yet published its data according to power generation by different types of stations. Electricity generation at Russian nuclear power plants exceeded 18.5 billion kWh in May, Rosenergoatom previously reported.
